Nissan along with its partner Sony PlayStation launched the Nissan PlayStation GT Academy. This is for the motor racing aspirants in India. This will give Nissan an opportunity to connect closely with their Indian Audience.
This PlayStation has got enormous positive response and has been highly successful in Europe, Russia, the USA, the Middle East and South Africa. Now, India enters this international league with this PlayStation launch.
GT Academy’s Indian qualifying rounds will include Live events in huge shopping malls. Currently they will be launching it in five select cities, and then later will also include an online round. This Online Qualification round will be hosted on PSN (PlayStation Network). The first round will take place on the 6th of February, 2014 at the Delhi Auto Expo.
Nissan PlayStation 3GT Academy – the competition:
- This Platform will offer gaming enthusiasts to compete with each other.
- GT Academy is a ‘virtual to reality’ programme, this will test the racing skills and knowledge of the people participating. The time-trials should be considered as qualifying rounds and will be hosted at shopping malls in New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai.
- Out of the five cities, only top 14 contestants will be eligible to enter the National Final. Those 14 contestants will go through a two day intensive physical and mental training examination programme.
- After this intensive programme, only 6 finalists would be eligible for the International Race Camp at Silverstone in the United Kingdom.
