Google recently inaugurated its “Solve for X” website, and it looks like its reaching the creation of a TED-like think tank that will focus on talks about radical technological ideas. The main idea behind the site as described by them is “a place where the curious can go to hear and discuss radical technology ideas for solving global problems.” It sounds very similar to the territory already covered by Google X – Google’s secret lab.
Richard W. DeVaul, a researcher in Google’s secret lab, mentioned on his Google+ page some more details about the Solve for X’s format. According to that information, Solve for X conference just had talks on transforming education, synthetic biology, carbon-negative bio fuels and improvements in agriculture. A leaked image from Solve for X’s site’s CSS showed ten steps on how to pitch and prepare for a solve for X talk. DeVaul also said that new presentations will be posted to YouTube soon, “by Monday”.
