Acer reportedly said to ‘DigiTimes’ that it the third quarter of this year will see the launch of its CloudMobile smartphone, following AcerCloud service’s rollout in North America and China. The phone is expected to launch worldwide and will apparently running on Android 4.1. The worldwide launch raises prospects of the phone being available without Acer’s cloud functionality in certain markets.
No other details have been given out except that the phone will use a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and will run on HSPA+ 3G networks. Acer seems to be making unpredicted moves into the premium segment of the market, and we are eagerly waiting for the Mobile Worold Congress in Barcelona this month to get a glimpse of what an iF award-winning design from a traditionally low-cost manufacturer will be like.
