We came to know about the Sony’s 2012 line-up through a leak and there was a device called the Sony Xperia LT22i ‘Nypon’ and if the Indonesian Telecoms Regulatory body is believed the device will launch as Sony Xperia P.
It seems Sony will be adopting a single letter name for its device ahead of it Xperia name basically following its Tablet names, the Sony Tablet P and S.
The Sony Xperia LT22i ‘Nypon’ is expected to carry the same design as the Xperia S but will have a 4-inch qHD display and use a ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 chipset (1GHz dual-core). It is also believed to carry an 8MP Exmor R camera sensor. We expect both the Xperia P to be announced with the Xperia U next month at MWC in Barcelona.
