According to reports, Kodak, the company behind many a point and shoot cameras are going through some serious problems with reports even saying that they will be finalizing bankruptcy. But it seems Kodak still has some interesting assets in its portfolio that can be used to sue major wireless device makers and as per the reports Kodak has been trying to get licensees for its various digital imaging patents. Kodak has filed a patent lawsuit against two big names in the mobile tech world namely, Apple and HTC, the imaging company claims that the two companies infringes on its various imaging patents.
The iPad 2, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and the iPod touch (4th generation) are the devices which the company claims to infringe upon its four patents. As we would expect from a imaging company the patents all relate to digital images, ranging from capturing them, to transferring photos over email, cellular networks, or wireless LAN networks. While HTC is being sued for the same four patents as Apple but with the addition of a patent that covers capturing still images while previewing motion images.
