Domestic handset maker – Karbonn is aiming an overall turnover of Rs 4,000 crore to Rs 5,000 crore in the financial year 2013 – 2014. Karbonn Managing Director Pardeep Jain says that Karbonn is growing in the same way as the smartphone market is growing. Their growth is almost double year after year.
Last financial year, Karbonn had touched revenues of Rs 2,400 crore. This year they are aiming for a turnover of above 4000 crore. By the year 2014 – 15, seeing the growth, company will be aiming for sales between Rs 8,000 crore – Rs 9,000 crore.

Another news is that, the company will now start assembling the phones at their Chennai facility by January or February next year instead of China. As of today, all the mechanical design, software, R&D is happening in India and they wish to start the manufacturing soon in India.

Under the National Policy on Electronics, government has announced a slew of benefits which include up to Rs 10,000 crore sops to the industry over the next five years. This will promote and enhance the production of electronic products and also electronic components.

The company aims to monthly sales of 1 million smartphones before December 2013.
