Flow Home

Earlier this month, when OnePlus was running a week full of giveaway on their forums, they shared beta invite codes to the participants of an interesting new launcher, Flow Home. This was not our first introduction to Android launchers but it still managed to grab our attention.
I personally am a big fan of Yahoo Aviate. I totally love how they make use of my data to make the Android smartphone intelligent. It has a different icon widget arrangement which makes it look interesting. Flow Home is based on the same lines to change the boring conventional experience which is being followed since the birth of Android.

Flow Home

Flow Home offers a lot of personalization options asking for your personal data like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. The home screen gets converted to a wall of social feeds kinda like HTC’s BlinkFeed. Along with the social wall, there is a shortcut icon which keeps your favorite apps ready to use with a single tap.

Obviously the favorite list has to be limited, but what when we have to access other apps? There is a full app drawer on the right swipe from the home screen with a full stack intelligent search for speedy discovery. The search can also be accessed from long pressing the favorite shortcut on the home screen.

There are different themes and layouts which we yet haven’t tried. The launcher holds much potential, probably being a direct competitor to Aviate. The app is available to download from Google Play Store under public beta using the invite code BETA15.

Here is a product video from the developers giving out an overview of the launcher.
