Well, we all are now familiar with Corning’s Gorilla glass by now. Today we come across many smartphones using Corning’s glass for its display to add durability and stop the scratches to destroy the large displays that today’s smartphone come with. 

Corning’s Gorilla Glass is a scratch resistant toughened glass solution developed by Corning which has been quite successful, well we have news that  next week at CES Corning will unveil the sequel to its blockbuster Gorilla Glass hardened glass product for smartphones, tablets and other devices.

Corning plans to unveil the new Gorilla Glass II on Monday. It’ll most probably thinner, tougher glass for cutting edge touch-based mobile devices; larger sized glass for TVs and other large displays. Corning is said to have on display a 82-inch LCD display prototype using Gorilla Glass as cover glass. The company also reported that Gorilla Glass is now designed into more than 575 product models, with more than 500 million units sold worldwide.

We’ll surely get to know more about it at the CES when we’ll be seeing actual devices with the Gorilla Glass II.
