Tension has rised in Finland as Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop, is reported to have hired a personal security team to protect him.
Finnish website, Iltalehti, reports that Elop was spotted on Thursday night with guards checking his house and them escorting him inside. This just hours after he announced that Nokia will be cutting roughly 10,000 jobs by 2013 in efforts to cut costs.
According to sources it is just a precaution after he received threats. Elop has been criticised by employees, shareholders and fans of Nokia, following the company’s current market predicament.
