We all know the Google Wallet app has only been officially available to Nexus S 4G Sprint owners, but it seems that that’s changed. The folks at Droid-Life have found out that the Google Wallet app is now available to install onto an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Nexus with an AT&T SIM card installed.

The 3 major carriers in the U.S. (Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile) have their own NFC payment system in the works and they would rather not let you use a competing service. They have hidden the app be hidden from all phones with NFC chips that are activated on their networks. The app doesn’t show up on the Android Market too.

The folks at Droid-Life have even found out a way to install the Google Wallet on Verizon’s LTE supported Galaxy Nexus. While it seems AT&T is planning to give their users freedom to choose their payment service but we’re not quite sure of Verizon.
