There was recently at least seven reports of 1040 and 1050 HP fax machines catching fire due to devices overheating. This led a voluntary recall of all 1040 and 1050 fax machines by HP to prevent any more such incidents.Though there hasn’t been any serious damage to life or limb, only a case of a minor finger burn. HP also announced that the consumers should at once stop using the recalled machines, and disconnect them from electrical outlets. There are about 928,000 fax machines at risk in the US and 240,000 in Canada and Mexico.
