Brandon Watson is one of the quite well-known name among the developers and followers of Windows Phone. He was the head of Windows Phone Developer Experience at Microsoft and had an important role in making Windows Phone 7 more popular while making sure developers got everything they need in order to code great apps for the budding platform.
He had quite popularly used twitter to make the platform popular among developers and even recruiting developers stuck on a dying platform. Now he has used Twitter to confirm rumors that he is leaving Microsoft for Amazon. He will be the Director of the Kindle Cross Platform team at Amazon where he will work on the Kindle apps for all platforms including Windows phone and Windows 8.
Microsoft hasn’t named any replacement for the position but confirmed that February 6 will be the last day for Brandon Watson at Microsoft. We too wish him well for his future!
