At the Shanghai Gaming Festival on the 28th of Apri, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang announced the GTX 690, NVIDIA’s new Kepler based flagship in its Desktop class GPU lineup. It is the fastest graphics card released to date, and it has a bold industrial design as well.

It has a chromium-plated aluminum exterior frame, with poly-carbonate windows on top of it. The fan housing is made from a thixomolded magnesium alloy, and it has a 10-phase power supply. The GTX690 connects two GTX680s onboard, with dual water-vapor champers sitting on top of them for cooling purposes.

The GTX690 is powered by 3,072 CUDA cores, running at 915Mhz base clock, slightly reduced in comparison to the GTX680. The memory clock is unchanged at 6Ghz, with 4GB of VRAM. It will start selling on May 3rd, at a price of $999, double of the GTX680.
