We’ve heard repeatedly that OnePlus is working on a Lite model to accompany its flagship product line. It was rumored that last year’s OnePlus 8 Lite would be launched but in the end, it got launched as the OnePlus Nord. Now as per the new reports it looks like OnePlus is trying to find the right Lite phone, probably as part of his flagship. This year it is expected that the OnePlus 9 Lite is indeed on its way. But But… only for two Asian countries.

In a brief tweet, TechDroider, reported that there are rumors that the OnePlus 9 Lite will have two model numbers – LE2100 and LE2101. As this arrangement is in line with OnePlus’ previous nomenclature, these two models are destined for China and India respectively, as no other countries are currently listed. This contrasts with the brand’s common practice of wearing its cap in Europe and North America, although there’s still a slight chance that the 9 Lite will eventually make it to the European Union.

As we learned from a previous leak, the OnePlus 9 Lite may be powered by a Snapdragon 865, which is a good indication that this won’t be another Nord model and will serve as the entry point to the OnePlus 9 main flagship line. As of now, no launch date has been announced yet, but it makes sense that the 9 Lite will be officially announced at the same time as the 9 and 9 Pro, as they say, around March.
