Intel’s press conference is going on right now and it has joined hands with the Indian smartphone company Lava and they’ve introduced their new Xolo line-up of phones and starting with the Xolo X900 which is powered by Intel’s Medfield chipset.
Vishal Sehgal of Lava International showed off the Xolo X900 smartphone powered by a 1.6GHz Medfield processor and a Graphics processor clocked at 400Mhz.
The Indian market share has almost doubled in a year which is triple the growth rate than the rest of the world so Lava is trying to take benefit of the increasing smartphone share in India. LavaMobile also plans to introduce an Intel Atom processor-based smartphone in Q2 this year.
There are no details yet on the pricing and availability yet but its quite nice to see a Indian maker trying to up its game. We’ll update the post once we get full specs of the smartphone so stay tuned.
The pictures of the smartphone show that the device is running Gingerbread and the screen size looks to be somewhere in between 3.5-3.7 inches and it has a 8 MP rear camera onboard too.
