If you had started having double thoughts on Android’s success, well we’ll ask you to think again. Andy Rubin, Google’s senior mobile VP has confirmed that Android is nowhere down the hill and instead is growing impressively enough. Andy Rubin confirms that now Android has over 900,000 daily activations, which is an impressive increase of more than 50,000 compared to the 850,000 number quoted at the last Mobile World Congress back in February.
There were rumors doing rounds that Andy Rubin was going to leave Google and focus on a startup company but Andy has stepped ahead himself and refuted such rumors saying that he is only providing free office space to the startup company and has no plans to join it now or at any point in the future. He then revealed the interesting stats for us that Android now has over 900,000 daily activation which is a lot of Androids.
For our users who are still in confusion on what Activation actually means, well when a new Android device with a cellular radio has a Google account signed into it, it’s counted as an activation. Each device only gets counted once — not when you flash a new ROM, or when you sell it, just the first time the device is registered which means 900,000 new Androids get activated everyday.
