LG already announced the Optimus Vu, a direct competitor to Samsung’s widely popular Galaxy Note, before MWC and it seems as if they’ve done it again.

Today LG announced the Optimus LTE Tag; an LTE-enabled device with NFC capabilites, a 4,3-inch WVGA screen, a 5MP main camera and 1,3MP webcam, 16GB memory and a 1,2GHz dual core Qualcomm processor. When it comes to the OS, it runs Android v2.3 Gingerbread, wait, what? It seems as if LG haven’t been notified that Ice-Cream Sandwich has been released, quite a while ago already, but an update is likely by the time it reaches the market.

They’ve also announced the Tag+, a NFC-powered system that allows to, when scanned, perform preset tasks like changing the device’s profile, displaying images, open a webpage etc. Both the device and Tag+ system will likely be displayed at MWC along with the Optimus Vu next week in Barcelona.
