The famous Rootless Pixel Launcher finally makes its way to the Google Play Store with the help of Pixel Bridge. Developer Amir Zaidi started this project since the launch of Pixel smartphone. The updated version is called as Rootless Pixel Launcher v3.8. It seems to be a mixed version of the Google Now launcher and the new Pixel device setup. It’s completely open source as well so that developers can learn how to implement support for it into their own launcher.
The Pixel Bridge works as an actual bridge which helps the app to connect with the Google API’s. So now users will be able to receive the ‘At a Glance’ menu, that shows traffic information and gives live weather updates. Also, ‘Google Now Feed’ appears to the left of the screen. The Pixel Launcher v3.8 also modifies Regular icon packs, as well as Adaptive icon packs, such as ‘Social media’
Rootless Pixel Launcher v3.8 can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. The launcher is based on Android 8.0 Oreo and the developers are working to make its way to Android 9.0. The installation process is really simple, however, keep in mind that it’s not the official Google launcher. So can’t import your old layout from previous versions and that you’ll have to reinstall. All the settings and icon layout will change as soon as you install the Rootless Pixel Launcher.
