With CES round the corner the rumor mill is going abuzz, and why should cameras not be part of the fun ? Yes, Nikon’s much awaited high end successor of the very popular D3 and D3S – the D4’s images and unconfirmed specs have been leaked.
Folks at Nikon Rumors have posted a photo of a Nikon camera that could be the D4, though the grey box covering up the camera’s name badge looks a little fishy. Overall, the rumored D4 looks a lot like the D3, just a more tight and compact design retaining all of the camera’s myriad ports, buttons, and dials.
It’s been a long time since Nikon came out with a high end professional DSLR, and it certainly needs to come up with one fact to tackle the Canon’s promising 1D X. We wouldn’t be surprised if the D4 is announced at CES later this month.
Here are the rumored specs of the D4 – again, not all rumors are true, so take these with a pinch of salt :
- 16.2-megapixel sensor
- 11fps burst mode
- Native ISO range of between 100 and 102,400
- Compatibility with CompactFlash XQD memory cards
Let us see if Nikon has something to keep all the shutterbugs happy in the coming times !
