Facebook seems to have solved a problem many of its users face; sort and filter out the feeds you want and don’t want to see. The ‘Acquaintance List’ suggestion box points out people you may not want to hear much from. Facebook bases these suggestions on how often you may interact with these people, which includes how often you view their profiles, posts, etc.
By adding friends to the Acquaintance List, you’ll be seeing lesser and lesser posts on your homepage. To activate this, visit your Friends page, click Acquaintances and find ‘See All Suggestions’ on the right hand side. A step further would involve completely unsubscribing to a person’s updates.
As users amass more friends on Facebook, they find themselves having to reorganize and deal with massive News Freed overload. The Acquaintance List coupled with the drop down menus next to posts in the News Feed should help users arrange their feeds and create a much more personalized experience.
