Apple showcased the Siri Shortcuts App at the launch of iOS 12 in the WWDC 2018 event. After much speculation, Apple finally released a beta version of Siri Shortcuts for the iOS 12 beta testers. Although, the app can be used under TestFlight, with Request option that is available after logging in to the Developer Center.
Siri Shortcuts app is based on the Workflow app that Apple purchased in 2017. It allows the users to create a series of fixed actions integrating with different apps. And all that can be carried out with a simple tap or customized voice command.
Right now it app is in beta version, so it comes with a limited number of Shortcuts which can be created within the Siri section of the Settings app like ordering a coffee, texting a lunch order, requesting a home ride, splitting the bill etc. Apple further says that in the initial stages of beta, Shortcuts will have limited actions, no iCloud syncing, and some missing actions.
In order to use the app, you’ll need to click on the request access button within the Developer Center. Then the Apple Team will send an email if they granted the access or not. Right now, the current Siri Shortcut beta is only for the developers and it’s not sure when they’ll release the public beta version of this app.
