The wildly popular iOS photo-editing and sharing app Instagram is now finally available on Android. The app was teased at SXSW and was said that Android version of the app would be coming soon and then we saw the company host a sign-up page for registering your interest in the upcoming Android version of the app. The application has now finally arrived to the Google Play Store.

The Android version has the same features as in the iOS one but there are few features missing such as tilt shift effects aren’t available, sharing via Flickr. At the SXSW, the developer Kevin Systrom stated that the Android version of the app would be in some way superior to the iOS one which made us believe that there would be some added functionality but quite amusingly it comes with some features missing which kills those bold promises.

Nonetheless its a fun and addictive app which will be loved by Android users and its available for free, the app supports Androids running Froyo or later that have OpenGL ES 2 compatibility.
