Moments ago in the MWC Press event , Microsoft announced the release of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview which is now available for download for anyone interested in testing the OS out. The OS is available for many devices ranging from tablets , desktops , laptops to all-in-one. The OS is designed to gives instant access to apps , files and information wherever we need. The touch and navigation on the new OS according to the source is like fluid.
The Windows Team Blog stated that the release is still under development and the final release may feature some changes , so the present OS may be buggy, which they need the reviewers to report via post on their blog , so that they can be ruled out.
The hardware requirements for Windows 8 are :
- 1 GHz or faster processor
- 1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
- 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
- DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
- 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution
