Its the 75th anniversary of Canon today and they’ve choosen this special day to announce their highly anticipated EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera boasting a 22MP sensor. It is described as a “once in a decade” product, the latest flagship DSLR aimed at  high-level enthusiasts and professionals and is the successor to the popular EOS 5D Mark II.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III boasts of  a 22.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor, DiG!C 5+ processor, a 61-point High Density Reticular AF system, multiple exposure modes, an ISO range of 100-25600, an inbuilt HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode and 6fps (frames-per-second) continuous shooting. It can capture 1080p movies at 24, 25 or 30 fps and offers high quality intraframe (All-I) video compression amongst a host of movie-related improvements which is to aim at filmmakers.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III will be available from late March and will cost you $3499.
