When the word “Apple” is involved , one can neither believe in the rumors not ignore them . One such rumor which we stumbled upon is that Apple may be announcing the launch of a smaller version of the iPad2 – a 7.85″ with 8GB of storage , in the Apple event scheduled to take place on this 7th of March .

According to a Taiwanese based Website , DigiTimes , which has quite a repo for sources in Apple’s internal is said to have a confirm word on this and states that along with the 16GB and 32GB version of iPad3 , Apple is also producing a small version of the iPad 2 , which is expected to ship in Q3 this year. There facts were as follows:

Makers in Apple’s iPad supply chain have started delivering samples of 7.85-inch iPads for verification, with volume production likely to begin in the third quarter of 2012 at the earliest, according to industry sources.

 

The price of the 7.85-inch iPad is likely to be set at US$249-299, since Apple is also expected to release an 8GB iPad 2 for US$349-399, and has lowered the price of the 16GB iPad 2 to US$449, the sources noted.

 

 

Also , there is a news that the upcoming iPad3 might be termed as “iPad3 HD” as there was an inventory leak of Griffin for accessories which included the name “iPad3 HD” for the upcoming iPad accessories. The image was tweeted by Michael FonFara ( @mycintosh ) on Twitter.

With all these rumors leaking out , the only way to confirm them is to sit and wait for the Apple Event scheduled to take place in San Francisco.
