Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) was launched just a few months back and now people have started talking about the next version which might be named as Jelly Bean. Erich Schmidt had said last year they Google will be continuing the Six month Android update model, but currently no device manufacturer except for Galaxy Nexus and the ASUS Transformer Prime are running the latest Android 4.0 version.
People have been saying loads of things like it will be named Jelly Bean and the version will be Android 5.0, but I am not quite sure of the name and I am pretty sure this is not going to be 5.0, the name might be different but the version most probably will be in 4.x itself. Another rumor is saying that this version of Android will be tablet specific like Android 3.x (Honeycomb), again this is not going to happen because Android 4.0 was supposed to unify the mobile O.S and tablet O.S together and I am sure Google is not going to break the pattern, this is highly unlikely.
There is another rumor states that Jelly Bean will be dual boot friendly, which means like what we do in laptops or desktop O.Ses today, like installing Windows and Linux people will be able to do the same in tablets. So the manufacturers can include both Android and Windows 8 on their tablets. Again this I can say is not possible because why would Google destroy their won O.S? What it might do is boot into Android and then maybe have an option to dual boot into Chrome O.S, this is very much possible, and if it does then it will be really interesting to see. Of all this reports all I can say is that the rumors about the features of Jelly Bean are totally false but the release date of the device in Q2 might be very possible because that is the time when we have the Google I/O which is very famous for launching some of the Android deserts. All I can say right now is let;s wait and watch!
