The developers have proved it again, that they are faster than the companies when it comes to running and releasing the latest operating system for devices which still don’t have official support. Yes, it’s the Kindle Fire this time. The much loved developers at xda-developers have put together an “pre-alpha” version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Kindle Fire. It’s first time we’ve seen Amazon’s budget tablet running the latest version of Android.

Things seem to be working fairly well for an “pre-alpha” build, which is based on CyanogenMod, but be warned and don’t complain as audio doesn’t work consistently and there are some graphic glitches as well. But, as the build moves into more stable phase, we expect better performance – stay tuned for all the updates on the same !
