After the European countries, LG finally launched Optimus Vu in India for the price tag of 34,500 INR. The Optimus Vu is a sleek 5-inch android running ICS and a supposed competitor for the Samsung’s Galaxy Note II. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core nvdia Tegra 3 processor that has optimal power consumption techniques thereby increasing the battery efficiency. The phablet also has a 8MP rear camera and 32GB inbuilt storage capacity.

New Delhi, 22nd October, 2012: LG Electronics, a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications, has launched LG Optimus Vu Smartphone in India. With a 5 inch 4:3 aspect ratio display and a powerful 1.5 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad Core processor, the Optimus Vu blurs the line between tablets and Smartphones (It’s a Phablet) for a whole new and unique smart device experience.
LG is no stranger to the ‘improvement through constant innovation’ concept, and this 5-inch not-just-a-smartphone wonder goes the extra mile to prove the same mantra. LG unveiled Optimus Vu at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year, and it has created waves since then with its unique form- factor and 1024-by-768 pixel screen. The smartphone has impressive specifications, with a slim 8.5mm body and runs on Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It flaunts an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel shooter on the front. The smartphone also offers 32GB of free memory to store all data.

Optimus Vu has excellent battery of 2,080 mAh and comes with a stylus. The Rubberdium stylus, at 5.5 inches, feels like a pencil and therefore enables a comfortable grip. The smartphone meets the multitasking needs of the modern consumers and offers features like the QuickMemo app, which allows users to take notes or annotate photos by using their finger tips. Users are also given the option of instantly uploading and sharing the content on their social networks. Optimus Vu’s MHL connectivity enables users to transfer content from their smartphone to their smart TV.
After China, India is the second largest mobile handset market in the world with a total mobile subscriber base of 930 million. Industry analysts forecast the smartphone market in India to grow at a CAGR of 116.4 percent over the period of 2012-2015.
