According to the IDC’s annual report, Nokia is still the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer with a 26,6% market share, shipping 417,1 Million phones in 2011. Samsung follows with a close second place at 22,8% and Apple is third with 8,7%. LG is fourth with 4,1% market share and ZTE fifth with 4%.

Despite being the top mobile phone manufacturer, a report by Strategy Analytics reveals that their smart phone market share isn’t as lucky. Nokia’s smart phone market share went down giving them a second place at 12,6% and Samsung first with 23,5%. Apple’s also in on the race, but only time will tell if Windows Phone will be Nokia’s saviour.
