Sony announced new TV’s under the Bravia XR line of televisions. The flagship model MASTER Z9J 8K LED TV is equipped with the Cognitive Processor XR. Sony also presented its latest development in mini LED display technology, the modular Crystal LED C-series and B-series.

At the heart of these new TVs is Sony’s latest Cognitive Processor XR, which uses a whole new processing method to reproduce an immersive viewing experience. When processing images, the processor divides the screen into different areas by simultaneously analyzing the elements in those areas. The processor then adjusts the image parameters for each element so that they are synchronized and look realistic.

The processor has also improved audio capabilities by analyzing the position of the sound based on the contents displayed on the screen for a more realistic 3D spatial sound effect. Other features of the Bravia XR series include the BRAVIA CORE streaming platform, Google TV, HDMI 2.1 compatibility, and X-Wide Angle technology.

Sony also announced two new Crystal LED Modular Direct View Display featuring mini LED technology. The C Series is designed for high contrast applications with a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, while the B Series is designed for high brightness applications with a peak brightness of 1,800 cd/m2. Both series are equipped with the X1 For Crystal LED image processor and are available in two sizes (P1.26mm and P1.58mm) for different installation requirements. They offer a wide viewing angle and color gamut, support HDR, high refresh rate, and 3D input signals.

The new Sony Bravia XR televisions will be on show at CES 2021, with availability and prices to be announced in the spring of 2021. The Crysta LED C-series and B-series will be available in the summer of 2021.
